The laboratory of Quality Control of the HPI, an independent unit from the Unit of Vaccines, functions according to the current pharmaceutical legislation (OFFICIAL JOURNAL OF THE HELLENIC REPUBLIC 322/6-5-1993).
 
The Laboratory is a member of the European Network of Official Medicines Control Laboratories and Hellas Lab (national representative of Eurolab).
 
The Laboratory has an ISO and the authority from the Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Technology (Y.F.E.T) to perform controls in vaccines and biological products. The Laboratory also participates in research programs for the development of new products for diagnostics.
