ABOUT
Research fields:
Immunology / Modeling inflammatory diseases and neurodegenerative diseases / Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) / Multiple Sclerosis (MS) / Alzheimer Disease (AD) / preclinical research studies.
We combine our expertise in three different disciplines of Biomedical Research:
- Immunology, focusing on inflammatory autoimmune settings particularly, Multiple sclerosis (MS) and Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), and their therapeutic targets, the cytokines type I IFNs and TNF respectively.
- Transgenic Technology in modeling of human diseases and
- Laboratory Animal Science.
We convert our expertise into translational research activities through sponsored confidential research projects with international and national private pharmaceutical companies.
RESEARCH PROJECTS
- Preclinical research studies of various
anti-TNF agents and natural products
using animal models for Polyarthritis
- Studies for T cell-targeted IFN-β signaling in EAE,
the mouse model for MS.
Collaborative projects
– Alzheimer
– Aging
– Neuromuscular diseases
FUNDING
– 53 Confidential research studies with national and international pharmaceutical companies since 1996
– National Research projects and collaborative Research projects, mainly with academia
