ΣΚΟΠΟΣ

Το Εργαστήριό μας δραστηριοποιείται στο χώρο της Έρευνας για περισσότερες από τρεις δεκαετίες (πρώην Υπεύθυνος Εργαστηρίου καθ. Σ. Τζάρτος). Οι δραστηριότητές μας περιλαμβάνουν δύο σκέλη: α. Νευροανοσολογία: κατανόηση, διάγνωση και θεραπεία νευροανοσολογικών ασθενειών όπως η βαριά μυασθένεια (MG), η οπτική νευρομυελίτιδα (NMO) και η αυτοάνοση εγκεφαλίτιδα (AIE), και β. Σχέσεις δομής-λειτουργίας των νικοτινικών υποδοχέων της ακετυλοχολίνης (nAChRs).

Α. Νευροανοσολογία
i) Κατανόηση και θεραπεία της μυασθένειας. Ανάπτυξη μιας πρότυπης αντιγονοειδικής θεραπευτικής προσέγγισης με βάση την αφαίρεση των αυτοαντισωμάτων
ii) Ταυτοποίηση και χαρακτηρισμός νέων υποομάδων μυασθένειας επαγόμενων από νέα αυτοαντισώματα
iii) Ταυτοποίηση ενός νέου αυτοαντιγόνου για την NMO
iv) Αυτοανοσία που συνδέεται με νευρωνικούς nAChRs: Ταυτοποίηση των αυτοαντισωμάτων έναντι νευρωνικών nAChR και ο ρόλος τους σε νευρολογικές παθήσεις
v) Διαγνωστικές δοκιμασίες ανοσοφθορισμού σε κύτταρα (CBA)
