Dnaday

Greek DNA Day 2026

DNA Day has been established to be celebrated every year on April 25 and commemorates the publication of the discovery of the DNA double helix in 1953 (Watson JD, Crick FH. A structure of deoxyribose nucleic acids. Nature 25 April, 171: 737–738, 1953) and the completion of the Human Genome Project in April 2003.

The Hellenic Pasteur Institute supports the Greek National DNA Day through various activities organized for DNA Day. Two of these activities are the essay competition and the drawing competition on the theme of DNA.
